Eliminated advertising?
Today I posted a new thread on http://smallbusinessbrief.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33403 asking others what they have done to cut back on advertising?
Strangely, as I was initiating the discussion with my own "cut backs" it dawned on me that most, if not all, of my marketing / advertising was coming from Internet niche websites and custom printed promotional items. All other advertising had been eliminated.
I stopped and leaned back as I pondered the typed letters appearing on the screen and thought, WOW, I no longer use the U.S. Postal Service for any type of communication unless it's a rare case where someone wants a hard catalog. I no longer conduct direct mail campaigns. I no longer use e-mails blasts.
It's amazing to see how advertising has evolved over the past 40 years.......considering my first advertising/selling gig was selling seeds out of the ad from Boy's Life magazine!!
